CERROS DE MAVICURE 4D3N
This is the most famous tour at this destination, where you will explore the best of the Guainia department. You will travel mainly by boats on several rivers of different characteristics, colors and majestic rapids in several indigenous territories that contain special natural wealth. You will have guided hikes to see the marvelous Mavicure hills from different sides, and also will visit some productive projects and sustainable practices that locals are running in order to get an income while preserving the ecosystems.

Day 1 - WELCOMING TO THE CERROS OF MAVICURE
On this day, you will fly from Bogota to the town of Inirida (07:00-13:00) depending on the airline schedule for that day. Once there, you will be welcomed and will be taken to the dock of the town for a 2-hrs. boat transfer by the Inirida River, to one of the indigenous communities located next to the Cerros de Mavicure. You will ascent one of the smaller surrounding hills there, where you can see the sunset over the endless well-preserved jungle of the area.
Day 2 - ASCENDING THE CERROS OF MAVICURE
On this day, after breakfast you will start a hike to ascent the Mavicure hill, from which you will have the most spectacular view of the place. Later on, you will be taken by boat to San Joaquin creek, where you can swim and refresh on its red waters after the hike. Later on, you will navigate the river aiming to see river dolphins and will do a night canoe activity by the Pajarito creek in order to see nocturnal fauna.
Day 3 - INIRIDA FLUVIAL STAR
After breakfast, you will get to know the honey route project, which earned international prized due to the involvement of indigenous communities in sustainable alternatives of income. After that, you will have a 1-hr. navigation towards the Inirida fluvial Star, which is the union different rivers of different colors and characteristics and can swim in some of them. You will be taken to Moru natural reserve where you will spend the night in front of the big Orinoco River.
Day 4 - MATAVEN JUNGLE
On this day, you will have a canopy activity in the reserve, where you can see the jungle from above and with some luck some birds and monkeys. Afterwards, you will be taken in a 1-hr. boat transfer towards the town of Inirida, where you can have lunch, we will take you to the airport and you will wait for your flight back to Bogota (10:00-17:00) depending on the airline schedule for that day. Once there, you will be taken to a hotel next to the airport.

- ACCOMMODATION Beds in very basic rooms for two nights at an indigenous community and for one night at Moru Reserve.
- ACTIVITIES AAll the activities mentioned in the plan, all in shared tours and transportations of maximum 15 people.

- TRANSFERS All land/river transportations in shared vehicles and boats. Flights from Bogota – Inirida and back with the following conditions:
- 5kg handbag + 15 kgs luggage for SATENA & flights (where we can add weight at no additional cost up to 23 kg of luggage exclusively at the airport before flight check-in and when there are no flight advisory weight restrictions).
- FLIGHTS INCLUDED (when booked with us) The flights schedules vary according to the date chosen for starting the trip.

- MEDICAL ASSISTANCE CARD The tour includes a travel assistance card for all the days that covers possible accidents, medical attention and emergency transportations for a quick response in case of being necessary according to the evacuation time during the activities and level of medical attention at the destination.

- Non-disposable rigid container to refill water (canteen or thermos).
- Hands-free backpack, please avoid wheeled suitcases as much as possible.

Recomendations
The ecosystems of Guania area are special, therefore it is important to follow the recommendations in order to avoid or diminish any negative impact on them, as well as being prepared for a pleasurable experience, according to that:
- It is necessary to have an acceptable physical condition, since you will do some hikes and outdoor activities in nature.
- It is important to reduce waste generation (single-use plastics). According to that, it is important to take your own rigid non-disposable recipient for liquids.
- Follow and abide by the instructions of the guides and authorities during each of the routes and tours.
- Take your cautions against mosquitoes, such as long-sleeved clothes, repellent, among other cautions you or your doctor might consider.
- You should count with the yellow-fever vaccination. Ideally you should have it at least 10 days before your visit to the destination.
- Currently, there is no major outbreak of contagious disease or mosquito transmission in the areas to be visited. However, if there is an outbreak or important biological risk in the destinations to be visited, it will be informed in a timely manner prior to the trip.
- We recommend the use of binoculars to wildlife watching and moisture-protected cameras.
- This trip takes place in indigenous territories; therefore, it is important a good and respectful behavior regarding their traditions and spaces.
- Excessive consumption of alcohol and/or psychoactive substances during the activities mentioned in the plan can be harmful to your health and safety.

WEATHER CONDITIONS & BILINGUISM
It is necessary to be properly prepared for the weather conditions of the destination which are detailed below, but as this is an approximation, please note that they may vary. Also, keep in mind that there won’t bilingual staff or people at the destination.

ATM´S
It is necessary to carry cash for extra expenses during the trip since the last town where you will have access to ATMs is Inirida, after that there won’t be any ATMs or dataphones in the rural areas to visit.
PHONE SIGNAL & WIFI
You will visit a destination where there is poor phone and internet signal in the town of Inirida, but once to get to rural areas you won’t have any connection.
TIPPING
Tipping is not mandatory, but if you consider you can tip the guides and/or other staff with an amount from 20.000 to 50.000 COP (5 to 12 USD approx.) per day of service.
SEASONS
- The dry season in Colombia ranges from Mid-November till March, in this period of the year you can expect to have easier hikes and less rain in general.
- During the dry season you can see the marvelous white-sand beaches that are formed in the rivers of the area.
- The river levels will be lower and the hikes in general might be easier you can expect less mud and drier trails.
- Migratory birds might be easier to spot during the dry season.
- The rainy season starts in April and ends in mid-November, being May and October the rainiest months in Colombia and from June to September a softer rainy period.
- In the rainy season you can expect to see the rivers with high levels and more imposing, with a greener vegetation.
- On high waters season you can get easier to several spots and destinations by canoe or boats.
