Guaviare is a region full of biodiversity, located at the border of the Orinoquía and the Amazon in Colombia. In this 4-days experience, you will discover ecotourism attractions such as the Orion Gate, the Damas del Nare lagoon, the astonishing up to 12.000 years old rock paintings of Cerro Azul, the yellow natural pools formed over thousands of years by water and nature and Caño Sabana, which is known as the Caño Cristales twin, due its colors (only during the rainy season from June to October).

RIVER OF COLORS AND ORION DOOR
On this day, you will arrive by land or air according to your choice. At your arrival time you will be received and taken to the hotel. After having time to dress properly for the activity of the day, you will have a 4x4 transportation to the La Lindosa rock mountains. You will head to the Pozos Naturales (Natural Wells) trail, which is a route that take you through a vibrant forest to a place of serene beauty, where you will have time to refresh in its clear waters with yellow bottom.
CERRO AZUL
On this day, after breakfast, you will be taken in a 4x4 car to Cerro Azul, which is the most famous archeological site of the area. Once there, you will hike to the cave paintings, observe and receive an informative talk about them. Then, you will go through a natural tunnel, where you need to have your own flashlight, and go up to the Amazon viewpoint to enjoy the scenery. You will have lunch with the local communities, and then return to the hotel for dinner.
NARE LAGOON + PINK DOLPHINS
On this day, after breakfast, you will be taken in a 4x4 towards the Damas de Nare Lagoon. You will get to a point where you have to hike (in dry season) or get by canoe (in wet season) during 7 kms in the jungle, where with some luck you will observe a great variety primates, birds, reptiles and other species. Once at the lagoon you will be able to observe and interact with a resident family of pink dolphins. Then we return to the hotel for dinner.
POZOS NATURALES
After breakfast, you will head by a 4x4 car and then by hike to La Lindosa rock formations and the colors river (only in wet season from June to November), having times for recreational bathing. Then you will hike to the Orion Door, which is is an imposing rock formation that is an icon of Guaviare. Then, you will be taken back return to San José del Guaviare for lunch. Afterwards, you will be taken to the airport or transport terminal.

- ACCOMMODATION In the urban area that offers private rooms with A/C of different capacities and a good comfort with all the necessary facilities according to the destination to have a good rest.
- ROOMS Private double, triple or family cabins.
- ACTIVITIES All the activities mentioned in the plan, all in private tours and transportations, except when necessary or requested by the clients when there are groups up to 8 people that can match the activities.

- MEDICAL ASSISTANCE CARD The tour includes a travel assistance card for all the days that covers possible accidents, medical attention and emergency transportations for a quick response in case of being necessary according to the evacuation time during the activities and level of medical attention at the destination.

- Hat and/or other sun protection for the head and neck.
- Sunglasses to protect your eyes from the reflection of the sun.
- Long-sleeved shirts to avoid sunburn and mosquito bites during outdoor activities.
- Wear comfortable pants and avoid jeans.
- Waterproof, preferably quick-drying clothing or a rain poncho.
- Rubber boots are mandatory especially in the rainy season and at least one pair of shoes to change. The lodge can provide rubber boots, but we need to know in advance the show size of each visitor.
- Swimming suit, towels and water shoes, as there will be chance to take baths in the rivers, lagoons and creeks of the area.
- Sunscreen and mosquito repellent.
- Protection for electronic devices since they may be susceptible to damages due to humidity and/or rain in the area to visit.
- Non-disposable rigid container to refill water (canteen or thermos).
- Hands-free backpack, please avoid wheeled suitcases if possible.
- Personal documents and count with your own medical insurance.

Recomendations
The ecosystems of the Guaviare area are special, therefore it is important to follow the recommendations in order to avoid or diminish any negative impact on them, as well as being prepared for a pleasurable experience, according to that:
- It is necessary to have an acceptable physical condition, since you will do some hikes and outdoor activities in nature.
- It is important to reduce waste generation (single-use plastics). According to that, it is important to take your own rigid non-disposable recipient for liquids.
- Follow and abide by the instructions of the guides and authorities during each of the routes and tours.
- Take your cautions against mosquitoes, such as long-sleeved clothes, repellent, among other cautions you or your doctor might consider.
- You should count with the yellow-fever vaccination. Ideally you should have it at least 10 days before your visit to the destination.
- Currently, there is no major outbreak of contagious disease or mosquito transmission in the areas to be visited. However, if there is an outbreak or important biological risk in the destinations to be visited, it will be informed in a timely manner prior to the trip.
- We recommend the use of binoculars to wildlife watching and moisture-protected cameras.
- This is also a cultural immersion trip that takes place in indigenous territories; therefore, it is important a good and respectful behavior regarding their traditions and spaces.
- Excessive consumption of alcohol and/or psychoactive substances during the activities mentioned in the plan can be harmful to your health and safety.

WEATHER CONDITIONS & BILINGUALISM
It is necessary to be properly prepared for the weather conditions of the destination which are detailed below, but as this is an approximation, please note that they may vary, and also keep in mind that not everywhere you can find bilingual staff or people at the destination.

ATM´S
It is necessary to carry cash for extra expenses during the trip since the last town where you will have access to ATMs in San Jose del Guaviare, after that there won’t be any ATMs or dataphones in the rural areas to visit.
PHONE SIGNAL & WIFI
You will visit a destination where the signal varies depending on your location, there will be places like cities or main town areas where there is a strong signal, but you will also visit several rural and natural areas where you may have a bad or existing phone signal.
TIPPING
Tipping is not mandatory, but if you consider you can tip the guides and/or other staff with an amount from 20.000 to 50.000 COP (5 to 12 USD approx.) per day of service.
SEASONS
- The dry season in Colombia ranges from Mid-November till March, in this period of the year you can expect to have easier hikes and less rain in general.
- The river levels will be lower and you can expect less mud and drier trails.
- Getting by car to off the road paths will be easier, making the transportation times shorter to those spots in very rural areas.
- Migratory birds might be easier to spot during the dry season.
- The rainy season starts in April and ends in mid-November, being May and October the rainiest months in Colombia and from June to September a softer rainy period.
- In the rainy season you can expect to see the waterfalls and rivers with high levels and more imposing, with a greener vegetation.
