This tour aims to discover the cultural coffee landscape and have a close contact with its nature, coffee culture and the shapes and colors of the houses of its towns. Here you will visit the most famous attractions in the area, but can also customize your experience according to your tastes, in this region that offers a great variety activities, from agrotourism, passing by visiting beautiful colonial towns and great landscapes like the Cocora Valley, to even have adventure activities.

SALENTO
On this day, we will receive you at the airport of Pereira, Armenia or wherever you indicate us in the coffee region and we will take you to Salento. Once there, you will check-in at the hotel and will have time for lunch. In the afternoon, you can have a short walk by the town where you will see its colorful houses and colonial heritage before visiting the lookout of the town where you can enjoy a great cup of local coffee and have a great dinner at night.
COCORA VALLEY & COFFE TOUR
On this day, you will have a full day tour starting at 8:00 AM from your hotel, visiting one of the most famous landscapes of Colombia: The Cocora Valley, which has the tallest palms of the world and the national tree: the Wax Palm. You will walk under these special plants and will also visit the cloud forest. In the afternoon you will have a coffee farm tour where you will learn about its whole process and afterwards you will be taken back to the hotel.
FILANDIA
On this day, you will be taken to Barbas Bremen Nature Reserve, where you can see a sample of the biodiversity of the region and with some luck will observe howler monkeys. In the afternoon you will visit the town of Filandia where you will have a special lunch. Later on, you will walk by the main streets of the town and will have a local handcraft workshop making a basket with your hands from natural fibers before being taken to your hotel.
SANTA ROSA DE CABAL HOT SPRINGS
On this day, after breakfast, we will take you to the hot springs complex of Santa Rosa de Cabal, where you can have a relaxing day at its beautiful and warm clear waters surrounded by astonishing nature with its spectacular unique thermal waterfall. Here there are some trails you can walk by in order to discover the forest and preserved nature behind this place. In the afternoon, you will be taken back to the hotel which is very close to this place.
FLIGHT OUT
On this day, you will have a transfer included to take you to the international airport of Pereira in order to be 3 hours before your flight out the country or 2 hours before flight connections inside Colombia.

What to take?

- Hat and/or other sun protection for the head and neck.
- Sunglasses to protect your eyes from the reflection of the sun.

- Appropriate footwear for the hikes, trekking shoes are advisable and at least one pair of sneakers for change. Footwear can get wet during the hikes.
- Swimming suit, towels and water shoes, as there will be chance to take baths in the rivers and hot-springs of the area.
- Sunscreen and mosquito repellent.
- Protection for electronic devices since they may be susceptible to damages due to humidity and/or rain.
- Non-disposable rigid container to refill water (canteen or thermos).
- Personal documents and count with your own medical insurance.
- Personal medicines and first aid kit.

Recomendations

The ecosystems of the Coffee Region are special, therefore it is important to follow the recommendations in order to avoid or diminish any negative impact on them, as well as being prepared for a pleasurable experience, according to that:

- It is necessary to have an acceptable physical condition, since you will do some hikes and outdoor activities in nature.
- It is important to reduce waste generation (single-use plastics). According to that, it is important to take your own rigid non-disposable recipient for liquids.
- Follow and abide by the instructions of the guides and authorities during each of the routes and tours.
- Take your cautions against mosquitoes, such as long-sleeved clothes, repellent, among other cautions you or your doctor might consider.
- We recommend the use of binoculars to wildlife watching and moisture-protected cameras.
- Excessive consumption of alcohol and/or psychoactive substances during the activities mentioned in the plan can be harmful to your health and safety.

WEATHER CONDITIONS & BILINGUALISM
It is necessary to be properly prepared for the weather conditions of the destination which are detailed below, but as this is an approximation, please note that they may vary. Also, keep in mind that not everywhere you can find bilingual staff or people at the destination.

Salento & Cocora Valley (Days 01-04):

Filandia (Day 03):

ATM´S
There is good access to ATM´s and dataphones in the main cities and towns to be visited. However, it is advisable to carry cash for extra expenses in some rural areas in the destination.

PHONE SIGNAL & WI-FI
You will visit a destination where the signal varies according to your location, there will be places like cities or the main areas of towns where there is strong signal, but you will also visit several rural and natural areas where you might have poor phone or non-existent connectivity.
Hotels offer Wi-Fi with good connectivity. Although the signal may not always be the best.

TIPPING
Tipping is not mandatory, but if you consider you can tip the guides with an amount from 20.000 to 50.000 COP (5 to 12 USD approx.) per day of service.

SEASONS
- The dry season in Colombia ranges from Mid-November till March, in this period of the year you can expect to have easier hikes and less rain in general.
- The river levels will be lower and you can expect less mud and drier trails.
- Getting by car to off the road paths will be easier, making the transportation times shorter to those spots in very rural areas.
- Migratory birds might be easier to spot during the dry season.
- The rainy season starts in April and ends in mid-November, being May and October the rainiest months in Colombia and from June to September a softer rainy period.
- In the rainy season you can expect to see the waterfalls and rivers with high levels and more imposing, with a greener vegetation.
