Destination: GORGONA ISLAND

Gorgona is a special island located less than 60 kms from the closest Colombian town which is Guapi. This island used to be one of the most feared prisons in the country, but now it is entirely a National Park protected since 1984 due to its biological and ecological value in land with different plants, monkey, birds and reptiles species, but specially for its biodiversity under the sea. In Gorgona there are stunning white-sand paradisiacal empty beaches perfect for relaxing and tanning. Underwater you can find well-preserved coral reefs and even sunken ships, making this a great destination for scuba-diving being famous for its big turtles, different shark species, several species of fishes and other marine fauna. This place is also known for being one of the best spots for whale-watching in Colombia, an activity that can only be made from July to October.
