This is the most famous tour at this destination, where you will explore the best of the Guainia department. You will travel mainly by boats on several rivers of different characteristics, colors and majestic rapids in several indigenous territories that contain special natural wealth. You will have guided hikes to see the marvelous Mavicure hills from different sides, and also will visit some productive projects and sustainable practices that locals are running in order to get an income while preserving the ecosystems.

WELCOMING TO THE CERROS OF MAVICURE
On this day, you will fly from Bogota to Inirida at 8:55 am, arriving at 10:26 am. Once there, you will be met and taken to the town's dock for a 2-hour boat ride down the Inírida River to the community of Remanso y Venado near the Mavicure Hills. You will ascend one of the smallest hills there, where you will be able to watch the sunset over the endless well preserved jungle of the area.
ASCENDING THE CERROS OF MAVICURE
On this day, after breakfast you will begin a hike to ascend 350 meters to the Mavicure hill, from which you will have the most spectacular view of the place. Later, you will be taken by boat to the San Joaquin stream, where you can swim and refresh yourself in its red waters after the hike. Then you will have a tour in curiara which is the indigenous canoe in search of pink dolphins before returning to the community for dinner and rest.
INIRIDA FLUVIAL STAR
After breakfast, you will visit the Ruta Dulce de la selva project, if weather conditions do not allow it, we will hike through white sand savannas to learn about the experiential workshop on the transformation of the yucca brava. After that, you will have a 1 hour navigation to the Estrella Fluvial de Inírida. Then you will be taken to the Morú natural reserve where you will spend the night in front of the great Orinoco River.
MATAVEN JUNGLE
On this day, you will have a canopy activity in the reserve, where you will be able to see the jungle from above and with some luck some birds and monkeys. Afterwards, you will be taken on a 1-hour boat transfer to the town of Inírida, where you will have lunch. We will take you to the airport and wait for your flight back to your home town depending on the airline schedule for that day. Once there, we will take you to a hotel near the airport.

ACCOMMODATION Beds in very basic rooms for two nights at an indigenous community and for one night at Moru Reserve.
ACTIVITIES AAll the activities mentioned in the plan, all in shared tours and transportations of maximum 15 people.

TRANSFERS All land/river transportations in shared vehicles and boats. Flights from Bogota – Inirida and back with the following conditions:

What to take?

- Hat and/or other sun protection for the head and neck.
- Sunglasses to protect your eyes from the reflection of the sun.

- Appropriate footwear for the hikes, trekking shoes are advisable and at least one pair of sneakers for change.
- Swimming suit, towels and water shoes, as there will be chance to take baths in the several rivers and creeks of the region.

- Protection for electronic devices since they may be susceptible to damages due to humidity and/or rain.
- Non-disposable rigid container to refill water (canteen or thermos).
- Hands-free backpack, please avoid wheeled suitcases as much as possible.
- Day-packs for carrying personal stuff, hydration, snacks and other elements during the outdoor day activities.
- Flashlight.
- Personal documents and count with your own medical insurance.

Recomendations

The ecosystems of Guania area are special, therefore it is important to follow the recommendations in order to avoid or diminish any negative impact on them, as well as being prepared for a pleasurable experience, according to that:

- It is necessary to have an acceptable physical condition, since you will do some hikes and outdoor activities in nature.
- It is important to reduce waste generation (single-use plastics). According to that, it is important to take your own rigid non-disposable recipient for liquids.
- Follow and abide by the instructions of the guides and authorities during each of the routes and tours.
- Take your cautions against mosquitoes, such as long-sleeved clothes, repellent, among other cautions you or your doctor might consider.
- You should count with the yellow-fever vaccination. Ideally you should have it at least 10 days before your visit to the destination.
- Currently, there is no major outbreak of contagious disease or mosquito transmission in the areas to be visited. However, if there is an outbreak or important biological risk in the destinations to be visited, it will be informed in a timely manner prior to the trip.
- We recommend the use of binoculars to wildlife watching and moisture-protected cameras.
- This trip takes place in indigenous territories; therefore, it is important a good and respectful behavior regarding their traditions and spaces.
- Excessive consumption of alcohol and/or psychoactive substances during the activities mentioned in the plan can be harmful to your health and safety.

WEATHER CONDITIONS & BILINGUISM
It is necessary to be properly prepared for the weather conditions of the destination which are detailed below, but as this is an approximation, please note that they may vary. Also, keep in mind that there won’t bilingual staff or people at the destination.

ATM´S
It is necessary to carry cash for extra expenses during the trip since the last town where you will have access to ATMs is Inirida, after that there won’t be any ATMs or dataphones in the rural areas to visit.

PHONE SIGNAL & WIFI
You will visit a destination where there is poor phone and internet signal in the town of Inirida, but once to get to rural areas you won’t have any connection.

TIPPING
Tipping is not mandatory, but if you consider you can tip the guides and/or other staff with an amount from 20.000 to 50.000 COP (5 to 12 USD approx.) per day of service.

SEASONS

- The dry season in Colombia ranges from Mid-November till March, in this period of the year you can expect to have easier hikes and less rain in general.
- During the dry season you can see the marvelous white-sand beaches that are formed in the rivers of the area.
- The river levels will be lower and the hikes in general might be easier you can expect less mud and drier trails.
- Migratory birds might be easier to spot during the dry season.
- The rainy season starts in April and ends in mid-November, being May and October the rainiest months in Colombia and from June to September a softer rainy period.
- In the rainy season you can expect to see the rivers with high levels and more imposing, with a greener vegetation.
- On high waters season you can get easier to several spots and destinations by canoe or boats.
